Mise en Scene 5 Essential Elements

1) Setting: The setting lets the audience understand things like who and where the clip is taking place. It also gives the audience the chance to understand the characters more based off the location of the scene.

2) Décor: Décor is used as symbols throughout videos to represent different things. It can also represent the characters.

3) Lighting: Lighting can make an audience feel a certain way. It is what sets the mood for a scene. For example, if the lighting made a scene look bright and sunny, the audience’s mood would be calm and happy.

4) Depth of space: This is something that helps develop a scene and add more detail. It also helps determine how far away or close up things are to one another.

5) Costume and makeup: These are two of the most important elements in a film. Costume and makeup help bring a film altogether. They are elements used to help each character be unique and stand out from one another. The producer is able to match a character’s costume and makeup to their personality in order for the audience to get a better understanding of that character’s life.
