The article, “How the news changes the way we think and behave” talks about how social media, the news on tv, and websites can affect the way people view topics and how it could even affect their mental health. The article explains how the news may change certain details of a story in order to make it sound better or worse, depending on their beliefs or opinions about a certain topic. The article then goes on the explain how it can affect people’s mental health and increase the chance of someone having depression or anxiety. Later on, the article went into more detail and explained situations in which people have been affected by the way the news twists up stories.

I strongly agree that the news does change the way we think and behave. One reason I believe this is because news channels like FOX reword things in order to make the story go along with what they believe, in order to make the audience believe the same thing. This has an effect on the audience because it can lead them to believe the wrong things or just follow other’s opinions because they think that is the right path. If the audience is viewing very harsh things, it can create a sorrowful feeling which can affect their mental health if they view too much of it. Another example with FOX news is that while they’re showing political news, they will switch up the correct story in order to make their beliefs sound better and convince people to think like them.
